Summer Studio Art Classes
for Middle and High School Students
from Foundational Drawing to Graphic Novel Design
Our summer youth program offers an exciting immersion into both classical and applied art for middle and high school students.
|Foundational Drawing: In this course, students will learn to draw using the sight-size method, a classical technique which facilitates the identification and rendering of correct proportions, halftones, shadow shapes and value relationships.||
Graphic Novel Design: This class offers students the opportunity to conceptualize and execute up to three frames in a graphic novel story of their own invention, using the many of the drawing techniques learned in Foundational Drawing.
There are two time slots available for each class:
1) Morning (10 a.m. - 1 p.m.) and 2) Afternoon (2 p.m. - 5 p.m.)
Students may choose to register for one of the following options:
1) One week of Foundational Drawing & one week of Graphic Novel Design,
2) Two weeks of Intensive Foundational Drawing,
3) Two weeks of Intensive Graphic Novel Design
The class fee includes a basic drawing materials kit with a value of $25.
